Kusco: Man is content with this small world. No one is brave enough to venture out into the universe. They confine themselves to this solar system and ship in resources from other planets. All they care for is luxury. Men run from the sound of thunder, and wear make-up and high heels. What if an advanced lifeform, brave and spirited, and full of reckless might, with the power to cross space were to attack the Earth at a time like this? A human race that's heading off to golfing ranges and amusement centers wouldn't stand a chance.
Reinhard von Lohengramm: The stars are good. Unmoving, they keep watch over us, forever shining, the only constant left to us.
Ryūnosuke Tomii: The American thinker Buckminster Fuller once called our planet "Spaceship Earth". On the other hand, British scientist James Lovelock stated that our planet was a life form named Gaia. I was always puzzled by the contrast between spaceship and life form. But the British scientist Richard Dawkins helped tie it together. Humans can be considered the Earth's genes. The planet is trying to self-replicate. That is natural behavior for a life form.
Reinhard von Lohengramm: Constellations of stars I'm seeing for the first time. You're only allowed to exist as objects for my conquest and rule. Just wait.
Ryūnosuke Tomii: If we are truly Earth's genes, the purpose of space exploration is because mutation is necessary.
Lhadatt Shirotsugh: Can anyone hear me? I'm the first man in space. If you look up, well, maybe you'll see it. Or at least please listen. We've left the oceans and climbed above the mountains. I'm flying. We've found the untouched realm of God. You have to look now it's your only chance. Nothing is here yet, not even air or water to ruin. Soon the next man will follow to touch it, and another, and in all the rush we may again destroy it. Maybe our killing comes from the madness of being confined? Please listen! There's no more reason to kill because we don't have any more borders now! Can anyone hear me? If you can hear me, then pray. The humblest of all things, the most noble. Pray for each step you take. Make a path that's safe so those who follow shall never stumble. Dear God, please give us your mercy. Mercy for we are lost. Forgive the irresponsible, the trivial men who beg you from the dark for the forgiveness of your light.
Narrator: When the oceans of the world dried up, people said the end of mankind had come. They lamented their fate, and closed their eyes to the limitless ocean overhead. A small few gritted their teeth, believing in a bright new future for mankind... and embarked upon this new infinite ocean – Space. People pointed their fingers and laughed, calling them outlaws chasing empty dreams. This is the story of such a time.
Tullece: Listen, boy, would you like to come with me? We'll roam through space wherever we want to go, destroying any planets we like, eating delicious foods and drinking delicious wines. There is no more enjoyable life than this.
